Time-line of the animal study. (a) Mice were injected with B16-F1 cells into the tail vein and immediately after injection exposed in vivo to one, or three consecutive, dose of UVA. (b) B16-F1 cells were in vitro exposed to the single dose of 8 J/cm2 UVA before injection into the tail vein. In the both experimental set-ups, fourteen days after melanoma cell injection mice lungs were removed, fixed, and melanoma nodules were counted on the lung surface.
