From: Inhibition of human lung cancer cell proliferation and survival by wine
Effect of red wine on glucose uptake. Serum-deprived A549 cells (24 h) were treated without (control) or with 5% red wine, or ethanol vehicle control for an additional 24 h at 37°C. Cells were washed and [3H]-2 deoxy-glucose uptake was measured as discussed in the Methods. The results are the mean ± SE of 5 independent experiments performed in triplicate and expressed as a percent of control.
