Apoptosis inhibited by DEVD-CHO. When MCF-7 cells were incubated with the caspase-7 inhibitor, DEVD-CHO at (A) 50 μM and (B) 100 μM, prior to SPD treatment, apoptosis levels decreased to control untreated levels as detected by nuclear staining, suggesting the important role played by this executioner caspase in SPD-induced apoptosis. (C) Results were presented as the means ± SD of 3 independent experiments.
