APS delays the growth of A549 xenograft in BALB/C nude mice. A549 lung adenocarcinoma cells (5 × 106) were subcutaneously inoculated in the upper left flank of mice, the mice were randomly divided into three group (n = 8 each): Negative control (treated with normal saline), APS (300 mg/kg per day for 30 days through i.p injection), and positive control (8 mg/kg DDP once a week for 3 weeks). Tumor size was recorded every 3 days and the volume was calculated using the following formula: (L × W2)/2, where L equals length and W equals width
