CAFs and cancer dormancy. There is little evidence showing a direct correlation between CAFs and cancer dormancy. We presume that CAFs might influence the state of cancer cells through remodeling ECM or producing exosomes and an array of factors such as TGFβ, IFN, IGF, FGF, M-SCF and IL. CAFs could produce TSP-1 and VEGF to mediate the balance of angiogenesis. It is also possible that CAFs could recruit immune cells then impinge on cancer dormancy
