Identification of AURKA as a key hub gene in GISTs. A, B Based on dataset GSE136755, the most significant modules based on the topology in the protein–protein interaction (PPI) network were identified using Molecular Complex Detection (MCODE) of Cytoscape. Module 1 contains upregulated DEGs (red color), while module 2 contains downregulated DEGs (blue color). Functional annotation of modules 1 and 2 was determined by ClueGO. Hub genes were identified using the cytoHubba plugin in Cytoscape based on the degree and bottleneck algorithms. The key hub gene (AURKA) was obtained by taking the intersection of the two groups of hub genes. C Based on the GSE47911 dataset, gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) results showed cell cycle-related gene enrichment in GISTs with elevated AURKA expression
