Normally, Hippo pathway is inactive, YAP is unphosphorylated and localized in the nucleus to bind with TEAD and activation of gene transcription, but when MT2A overexpressed, MST1 phosphorylates LATS2, and then phosphorylates YAP1. Phosphorylated YAP1 is exported from nucleus and inhibits gene transcription
