Effect of curcumin and curcumin analogue on colorectal cancer stem cells. Curcumin acts as an anti-tumour compound which targets the various factors or pathways that are implicated in colorectal cancer at many levels. Single or combined treatment of colorectal CSC has been shown to effectively inhibit tumour growth and, consequently, an improved sensitivity towards chemotherapy can be achieved.
