FAP expression and survival of patients with gastric cancer. a HE staining and immunohistochemical staining were performed on serial sections of gastric cancer tissues. PDPN expression combined with HE staining was used to trace GCAFs. FAP was mainly located in the cytoplasm in both GCAFs and cancer cells (scale bar = 50 µm). b Overall survival of patients (N = 73) was divided into two groups based on FAP expression in GCAFs. The survival curves revealed that the overall survival in gastric cancer patients with high FAP expression in GCAFs was significantly worse than that in patients with low FAP expression (P = 0.033)
