Strategy of cellular anticancer immunotherapy. Mouse macrophages were activated with sea cucumber triterpene glycoside cucumarioside A2-2 (CA2-2) and polarized in M1 tumoricidal phenotype ex vivo. Then, macrophages were loaded with synthesized nanoparticles conjugated with near-infrared fluorescent probe CyTE777 (NIR-NPs). After that, activated and polarized fluorescent M1 macrophages were injected into tumor bearing mice for macrophage visualization and localization and for anticancer cellular immunotherapy
