Role of PKCι in maintenance of cellular polarity. A PKCι wild type under normal conditions establishes a positive feedback loop through the Par complex to keep Par-3 at the adherence junctions to maintain cellular polarity. PKCι also controls the cellular concentrations of SNAI1 transcription factor by marking it for ubiquitination, in order to prevent SNAI1 from downregulating E-cadherins.
