Assessing prostate cancer cell responses to platinum-based cytotoxic drugs. A Outline of the study. Three prostate cancer cell lines (LNCaP, PC-3, 22Rv1) are subjected to platinum-based cancer drugs (oxaliplatin, cisplatin, carboplatin) or Actinomycin D to assess their survival and the nuclear stress responses occurring in the nucleolus and Cajal bodies. B Relative cell density of the indicated cell lines measured to determine concentrations of platinum drugs inducing equal cytotoxicity. Cells were treated with the indicated concentrations of oxaliplatin, cisplatin and carboplatin for 96 h. Relative cell density is shown. Error bars, SEM
